The Big Bad Wolf Books was launched in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2009, as the brainchild of BookXcess' founders, Andrew Yap and Jacqueline Ng. The primary mission is to cultivate reading habits, increase English literacy worldwide and build a new generation of readers, by making books more affordable and accessible, to EVERYONE.
Known as the World's Biggest Book Sale, the Sale is a global reading advocacy initiative that aims to encourage people of all ages to discover the joys of reading and inspire them to pursue their dreams and, importantly, empower them with the knowledge to realise them. We believe that the more knowledge that one gain, the better-equipped a person is to meet today’s competitive world's exacting demands.
Since its inception, the Big Bad Wolf Books Sale has evolved tremendously, going global and touring 34 cities in 12 countries, such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale specialises in providing the widest selection of English books at discounts that are as high as 90%, allowing customers to take a chance on new authors and genres they might never have read before. The Sale offers a wide variety of genres ranging from science-fiction and thrillers to literature, business, cookbooks, art and design, to children’s books, including many other sought-after books, to suit and accommodate everyone ‘s needs. For intrepid readers, no two visits to the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale are ever the same!

For the third consecutive year, the Sale continues its presence in Indonesia and Thailand. It also made its second appearance in Sri Lanka while also covering four cities in Malaysia: Malacca, Ipoh, Penang, and Kuala Lumpur.

2012 - 2015
The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale heads out of Kuala Lumpur to bring access to affordable books to more Malaysians. The Wolf led the hunt in six other states, namely, Kuantan, Johor Bahru, Kuala Terengganu, Ipoh, Penang, and Malacca.
The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale rolled out as the World’s Biggest Book Sale with 1.5 million books at its Sale in Kuala Lumpur, lasting 11 days at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park, Serdang.
The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale grew in size, offering 300,000 books on discount at South City Plaza, Seri Kembangan.
Big Bad Wolf Books Sdn. Bhd. is founded by Andrew Yap and Jacqueline Ng. In May, Big Bad Wolf Books successfully introduced their very first book sale, the Big Bad Wolf Book sale, at Dataran Hamodal in Petaling Jaya. This was followed by another at Amcorp Mall, Petaling Jaya in November with books at massively reduced prices. It gains notoriety for being a game-changer in the book business.
